A Little More Careful
This poster acts as a manifesto for a brand-new publishing house named Ride this book founded by Anouk Jeanningros and Loïs Renou. They had the double hat of beeing publisher as well as graphic designers of this object. The poster sketches the first lines of a space in the making. Through the meeting of two major figures, the bootleg of their own plastic forms and the dialogue imagined from an interview’s cut-up technique, this poster acts as the manifesto of a practice and a vision, in which we understand that art is not separate from life. This poster is also the zero issue of In-Quarto, a ready-to-post exhibition and a quarterly periodical focusing on contemporary artistic creation. As an extension of the Atelier M, a space dedicated to contemporary art located in the East of France, this periodical provides a space for experimenting with the exhibition of a work, research or protocol... in an editorial format. The idea is to think of a 4-pages periodical as 4 walls to be sent by post. Co-author of this project, Ride this book converses with the content of the issues through a plastic encounter between the guests’ practice and its graphic proposal. Produced in a limited edition, this periodical is halfway between correspondence and multiple works of art.
