The Prelude Exhibition of The First Shanghai Graphic Design Biennale – TopoPoster: International Poster Design Exhibition, after six months (June – December, 2025) of planning and preparation, was successfully held from December 13 to December 22, 2025. As one of the larger-scale exhibitions in recent years featuring an international selection of works in China, it showcased over 300 representative poster designs from 153 influential contemporary designers and studios active in the forefront of the field across 28 countries.

The poster design embraces a worn, raw and tactile look with it’s grainy and toned-down appearance. The visual composition avoids sharp clarity in favor of atmosphere, capturing presence rather than precision, much like the performers’ music, which lives in nuance, depth, and resonance. The poster becomes an echo of the night itself: shadowed, shifting, immersive. At the center, an abstract silhouette of a horseman emerges: not fully defined, but suggestive; this symbol ties to themes of journey, transformation, and restless forward momentum, resonating with the sonic explorations of the lineup.
