Carnivore 1

This poster was created during a workshop held by Rober Radziejewski in the winter term 2023/2024 at my art school Burg Giebichenstein Kunsthochschule of Art and Design in Halle, Germany.

Our task was to pick a book of our choice and excerpt its contents and translate them into a poster that would be later be screen printed by us.For my poster, I chose to work with an old biology book from my primary school. I was particularly interested in the pages about carnivorous plants and used different techniques of scanning and image manipulation to create this poster. Coming from an illustrator background, I found it especially inspiring to combine graphic design with my illustration practice and bringing these two mediums together. Using the software spectrolite, I was able to rasterize the scans and add grain and texture to the images. I especially enjoyed approaching graphic design with a playful, childlike method of altering the text layout in an untypical way and combining the different elements together to create new meaning and unexpected connections.
