The Prelude Exhibition of The First Shanghai Graphic Design Biennale – TopoPoster: International Poster Design Exhibition, after six months (June – December, 2025) of planning and preparation, was successfully held from December 13 to December 22, 2025. As one of the larger-scale exhibitions in recent years featuring an international selection of works in China, it showcased over 300 representative poster designs from 153 influential contemporary designers and studios active in the forefront of the field across 28 countries.

Jayne Mansfield – A lot of what they call the most

“The poster I designed on the occasion of my exhibition This Is The Beginning Of A Dramatic Explosion is composed of elements from my video work, combined with research material, Jayne Mansfield’s signature, and her silhouette. The three-color screen print on glittering, reflective paper evokes associations with camera flashes, tabloid magazines, Pop Art icons, and bygone starlets, as well as crumpled metal and spotlights. In addition, the poster contains numerous references to Jayne’s dazzling life and her tragic death. On the reverse side, a single printed golden hair serves as a symbol of Jayne Mansfield, reflecting on her image and her long-forgotten popularity.”
